Yellow Tent in Milan Highlights Practical Community Help by Volunteer Ministers

MILAN — 22 January 2026 — The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have brought their well-known Yellow Tent to Milan, offering a street-level point for practical help and one-to-one guidance, alongside simple “Tools for Life” techniques that can be applied to daily problems. Already seen in major cities such as New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents meet trained volunteers directly and learn straightforward methods for handling stress, improving communication and resolving conflicts, as well as support after personal emergencies.

Volunteer Ministers are local citizens trained through 19 introductory courses covering communication, relationships, study skills, workplace challenges and conflict resolution. The approach is focused on the individual: identify the issue and offer a step that can be used immediately.

In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during major emergencies including L’Aquila (2009) and Emilia-Romagna (2012), and have also assisted during recent floods in Marche (2022) and Romagna (2023), working alongside local institutions and civil protection actors to help remove mud and debris and restore access.

In Milan, activity expanded during the COVID-19 period with sanitisation initiatives and distribution of basic necessities. Organisers say volunteers then continued with community care work, including more than 160 consecutive Saturdays of clean-up and assistance, extending across all nine municipalities of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as sending essential goods to Ukraine.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Across Europe, communities grow stronger when citizens are equipped to help each other in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice.
